Clean Mind, Healthy Body, Full Spirit - Finding Fulfillment

“Find the right balance.”
It’s a phrase I’ve heard more times than I can count, about more things than I can remember. It sounds simple, maybe even cliché—but over and over again, I’ve come to realize that life truly does revolve around balance. Finding equilibrium in the chaos. Holding steady in a world that rarely is.
The hard truth? So much of life is out of our control. Weather. Politics (mostly, lol). The cost of living. Global events. Personal loss. These things hit us whether we’re ready or not. And when we’re out of balance, our minds and bodies let us know—through stress, anxiety, fear, or just that constant feeling of being off. These ‘off’ feelings can cause significant physiological tension for us, especially if we find ourselves constantly trying to control things that we are powerless over. It is all about finding the things that you do have control over, which allows us to overcome this tension and live easier lives.
Do you find peace in nature, but your daily grind leaves no time to simply step outside and breathe? Are you stuck in a city with sky-high rent, unable to find a job that covers the basics, and feeling trapped with nowhere affordable to go? Or maybe you're in a relationship where you’re constantly giving more than you’re getting, and it’s quietly draining you.
These are all examples of life’s fun imbalances—some within our control, some completely out of it, and a few that live in the messy middle.
It’s not weakness to feel overwhelmed by any of it. It’s your mind and body sounding the alarm: Something isn’t right.
And while the world will offer you a million quick fixes—take this pill, buy this product, win the damn lottery—none of it lasts. I’ve tried the shortcuts. I’ve prayed for the miracle. But life is too long, too unpredictable, and too sacred for temporary fixes.
The real change starts when we take back control over what is within our power: our mind, our body, our spirit.
I didn’t get here easily. I spent four years in and out of three inpatient rehab centers in my mid-twenties to confront my alcoholism. I’ve logged thousands of hours in therapy, worked through sexual abuse recovery programs, walked the 12 Steps, and leaned on every resource I could find. Hell I even earned a masters degree in Psychology along the way. And through all of that, I’ve come to believe this:
My best life—the one where I feel confident, full of hope, free from shame, and aligned with a purpose greater than myself—only happens when I have a clean mind, a healthy body, and a full spirit.
Yeah, I know—it sounds cheesy. Tacky. Maybe even a little too “inspirational poster.” But it works. It’s worked for me. And no, it’s not a one-size-fits-all formula.
A healthy body for you might look completely different than it does for me. A clean mind might require different habits—but at its core, it starts with learning to speak kindly to ourselves. A full spirit might be filled through prayer, art, nature, connection, or service.
That’s what we’re building here on The Honest Conversation, Made Eazy—a space to explore those differences, share what works, and support each other in the process.
These three pillars—clean mind, healthy body, full spirit—are what keep me grounded and content. They’ve helped me build a beautiful life with my wife, my growing family, and a community I’m proud to lean on. I want the same for you, and for anyone out there who’s struggling.
In the coming days, I’ll be sharing more blogs and videos that dig deeper into each of these areas—simple, honest tools to help you find your own version of balance.
Until then, just remember:
We are ALL in this TOGETHER, whether we like it or not :) Love each other, lift each other up, and always keep life Eazy.
